Welcome to another post, today I will be introducing you to, what I believe to be, the "It" outfit for winter this year. This outfit has been dominating my Pinterest feed and I've seen the components of it in many stores. The reason that I named this 90's inspired outfit "Boyfriend Athleisure" is because of the cut and the overall vibe that comes from the oversized coat, (usually) boyfriend jeans and sporty (usually white) sneakers. In my opinion, this outfit is the perfect winter mix of last season's (and kinda this season too) Athelisure trend and this season's 90's trend.

Zehra is in italics Hi everyone!
It's Zehra coming to you today, Sara is currently studying hard so I'm taking over the blog completely for a while. This is the (kinda overdue) second part of our little Summer Lookbook series. TBH, this was shot in January, yes, I know, don't kill me. The day that we took these photos, was scorching hot and the only reason we weren't exploding from overheating is because of the blessed shade. It was one of those sun-will-kill-anything-that-it-touches kinda days. Don't you just love 'em? But all in all, it was a great day spent with one of my favourite people. Enough about that though, can we talk about my SKIRT?! I purchased this skirt last year in March from Forever 21, when I visited the US. It's this beautiful ocean blue colour and has these really unique patterns printed primarily on the edge. Let me tell you, I have never seen a skirt or any pattern in fact, quite like this one. The colours work surprisingly well together and the simple cut really accentuates my figure type. And don't even get me started on the floppiness of it- I am in love. Whenever I wear this skirt I feel like a gypsy-hippie-princess-queen, it doesn't make sense I know, but that's literally how I feel. Add a plain top, a scarf with similar colours (how did I find that scarf? well you know turkish designers mixing any and every colour and pattern known to man, together to create really strange designs... So that's where I found it :P) and you're good to go! Actually don't forget the excessive hippie jewellery :) What does Zehra do when she's home alone and bored? Do a photoshoot shot by herself, featuring herself, of course. If Sara was here, she would say something about how my ego is large enough to share with two people, so therefore I would have the capacity of two humans. Well, actually that could be interpreted as a compliment, but Sara would never allow that, obviously. Anyway, here is a little outfit, I just paired my favourite jeans with my favourite thing: kimonos. Just add a plain top, a matching solid scarf, a pair of classic sandals and Bob's your uncle! What I love about this outfit is that it can be recreated in so many different ways. For example, you could swap the kimono for a longline knit cardigan and you'll have yourself a nice autumn or even winter outfit. Or you could swap the sandals for sneakers and wear a solid black or cream kimono for a more minimalisticor sporty look. And of course, accessories never hurt, as you can see from the multiple shots of my amazingly hippie hand chain that I'm obviously obsessed with... :P Hope you guys liked this post and that it added to your daily inspiration. If you know anyone else who is obsessed with hand chains, share this post with them!

Hi everyone! Welcome back to Essentia Lucens! We are back with another post, and as you can tell from the title, it's a Summer Lookbook. We are bringing you a couple looks that we both love to wear in this extra hot and sweaty season. Here is the first outfit in out "Summer Lookbook" series! Enjooyyyyy!!! Patterned Maxi Skirts When it comes to choosing an outfit I usually have a formula, or certain ideas that I like to stick to. For example, when it comes to patterned skirts I usually pair it with a neutral top and a neutral scarf, and I have to say Sara, you killed it with your outfit. Everything form the feminine and floral skirt to the sophisticated but simple top and right down to your simple and classic loafers, just worked. One detail that I especially love is the purple "crystal" necklace and your simple black beaded bracelet. The thing about this outfit that I love is that though its still girly and feminine, it's still sophisticated and classy, but I guess you've gotta have some credit for pulling it off so elegantly.
Hey everyone! Welcome back. It's been seven years since we last spoke!! We are here with quite a good post, if I may say so myself. *sniff sniff* Is that ego I smell? Um, it might have been, if it was just me. That does not make sense, can you at least speak English? No, I can only speak English when I have a good comeback. Whatever. Let's do DIS-MISS!!!! Sara's geometric skirt I'd just like to say that I adore this outfit. I think that Sara put it all together perfectly; whether that compliment is owed to her talent or her good luck, I'll let you decide. The colours in this outfit have been balanced so well; for example, the purple in her scarf matches the skirt as well as the blue shirt, as they are both cold colours. However, her scarf doesn't only match her skirt because it's purple but also because there are some brown undertones, which are also present in her skirt. The plain light wash denim shirt really balances out all the crazy colours and patterns very well. This is a very classic outfit, for Sara, or for anyone really.
Hey everyone!
It's me, Zehra, coming to you. It's been a while and I dearly apologise. However I am back, so I do get some credit don't I? Maybe not, but if you say yes or if I convince myself that the answer is yes, I will have enough encouragement to continue on. Anyway, the reason that I am alone once again is because Sara (the little poo), is still in Turkey and therefore we cannot communicate enough to post together PLUS she doesn't have internet so it would be slightly difficult. Hello EVERYOONNEE!!
It is I, Zehra, coming to you. However, it is just me. Why, you ask? Well, Sara and I decided that I was better at this whole blogging thing, so it would be best if I alone, did it. JOKES! Sara is currently in Turkey, having a smashingly fun time, and I'm stuck here by myself. :( But it's OK, I get to take over the blog and make it all about ME for a while. :)) And if you, for some reason, miss Sara, you don't have to worry. Sara will be back in a few weeks with LOADS of pics and stories to share on our "Adeventure Chronicles" page, plus there are a few pics here of her from a couple of weeks back. This is from a little family part-ay that we had to send off some peeps who (like Sara) were gonna go to and stay there for a while for one of our aunties' wedding! I am so jealous that I couldn't go, but it's actually a good thing since I a) get a break from Sara, b) I get to run the blog, c) I get to find other ways to take photos for the blog (since Sara isn't here and we take photos of each other). YAY for learning experiences! One more thing! Right here, right now, you are, for the first time in history, about to witness the meeting between Essentia Lucens and our other cousins! Yes, we have other cousins, and a couple of their stylish outfits will be featured here! Enjoy! Oh wait, I forgot, first look at all these photos of ME! P.S. I am actually not this egotistical in real life, though Sara would beg to differ, if she was here, but she can't so you're gonna have to believe me. :) NOW, enjoy!
Hey guys!!!
We are back, with a new fashion post!!! Yayayyyayayyy This post is a part of our little "White jackets in Winter" inspo series. It feels so so soo good to be back at it, we feel terrible and unproductive for not posting a fashion post every week, but sometimes it's just not possible. Last week, we posted my outfit and today we are sharing with you Zehra's hippie take on the white jacket. I hope to connect with fellow hippies through my fashion. You're not currently giving a speech to inspire anyone, Zehra, get over yourself. It's not my fault I like to be human and have emotions. Oh-no you di-in't! We are NOT going down that path, so before we go any further... Enjoy!
The heat has come and gone. The cold, like the unwelcome guest that it is, has come and stayed. It arrived at the end of summer and slowly, but surely, it has brought along a few friends and they've been crashing on our couches, causing a ruckus and an unpleasant atmosphere.
I know that you're trying to be some contemporary writer or something but you've got to stop. You are not Shakespeare, nor Tolstoy, nor any of the Brontes, nor Virginia Woolf. "Lock up your libraries if you like: but there is no gate, no lock, no bolt that you can set upon the freedom of my mind." Ok see? This is what happens when you don't listen to me, your elder. I told you to stop because I knew you were gonna try to be a Woolf; as soon as I said it, I regretted it. You have to listen to me, ok? You can't write like Woolfe because you're not mad enough. Virginia Woolf committed suicide, remember??? They tell me not to be dramatic, not to ring the bells of ... We are just gonna get right into it!
Hello humans! Eid is coming up so soon and we feel terrible for not getting up any eid inspo outfits, however we plan on getting a great "Eid Outfit Inspo Series" up for you next year, InshAllah.
If you remember, a couple posts ago, we had some pics of Sara, ONLY, and only one measly one of ME at the end. So to balance the tables, here is an OOTD of ONLY ME. I tried to stop her, but you can never stop a little child from jumping into the mud. Excuse me?! You mean, you can never stop a Sharpay from stealing the spotlight. THAT is a compliment, so you better go and revise those insults so that you can at least seem like a slightly experienced amateur. This can go on forever, so let's get back to me and enjoy these photos!!! |
