San Francisco
Helloooo huuumaaannns!!
I am back with my SECOND AMERICA POST, or as I have named it-"The 2nd Nutshell". I loved San Francisco as it was so full of energy and it was so very unique and its safe to say that I'll never forget it. San Francisco was probably my favourite city and I just wish that we could've spent more time exploring.
If you're interested, or just bored and have somehow found this page or if you're here for another reason, keep on reading!

The second city that I went to was San Francisco. And I'd have to say it was my favourite city out of all the ones that we visited. It was probably the atmosphere that it gave of, it was interesting. It didn't make me feel like I was in a typical American city; it was such a new experience and feeling. We were staying in a town called Fisherman's Wharf (if you've been to Universal Studios, you would've seen it) and, as the name suggests, it was a fishing town. There were many docks and though I'm not sure if there were many piers, there was at least one great one; Pier 39.
Something interesting that I noticed about San Francisco, is that many of the buildings have ledges that go into the building, making a little shelter. I like to speculate, and the only reason that I could think of is that so homeless people can have a "roof" over their heads. I think that if this is the case, that it is an ingenious idea and that is something to be proud of. I believe that it is even better than the cutting edge technology that is probably currently being developed in the United States. This little act of innovative thinking makes a difference in people's lives, and I hope that we see more of these in the future, everywhere around the world.

Pier 39... Where do I start? How about the most important thing? Food. There are some amaaaz-iinnggg restaurants on this large wooden plank of bustling energy. One that is quite memorable and that served my friends and I well in our time of need on a cold, rainy day in San Fran, is Boudin Bakery. This amazing place served us with a warm meal of "Rustic tomato soup in a bread bowl", which basically warmed my stomach, and soul, in a few a seconds making me feel content with life for about 45 minutes; at which point I was hungry again and craving for more.
On to the second best thing, shopping! I did see some clothing stores that contained warm socks, which I was very close to buying as I was freezing my legs off in my flowy maxi skirt; bad decision, boy, do I know. However, I didn't see any clothing stores that contained fashionable clothing. There was this one store though, that sold organic hand creams, body butters, scrubs made from minerals from the dead sea. Unfortunately I couldn't buy one, however the lady in the store was suuuper nice and she let us sample some scrubs and moisturizers, which smelt beautiful btw. I recommend everyone, who has the chance, to go there and buy something.

Azkhaban, Alcatraz. I'm going to hope that JK. Rowling did use Alcatraz as inspiration for Azkhaban. I don't have much to say about Azkhaban, though the walking tour was great, I really felt like I was a prisoner and sometimes when there weren't many people around and you had to walk into a dark cell, and you heard the sound effects- I was a little frightened more than once is all I'll say.
And finally, what San Francisco is known for- bridges. I saw two as you can see from the photos. I saw the very famous Golden Gate Bridge, which was amazing and huge, but once you've seen it, you've seen it, the end. Oakland Bay Bridge was huge too but again; once upon a time I saw the Oakland Bay Bridge, the end.
That's all that I thought was worth sharing with you about San Francisco, I hope you enjoyed this post, found something interesting about my experience in San Fran and will come back for the "3rd Nutshell".
